Whatsapp reduces time to delete messages sent by mistake
Last year Whatsapp introduced one of the most demanded functions by users: delete sent messages. An option that allows the user to correct the erroneous message sent by selecting "Delete for all". This way the text is automatically deleted.
The ABC portal, highlights the news that will surely alert more than one, because who hasn't been that of sending a message by mistake to a chat, or sending a text with offensive or inappropriate words, well if you are one of those who are used to send messages and then delete them with this feature that WhatsApp made available from 2017, you should be aware of the time you will now have to be able to do so.
Up to now, the user only has to click on the erroneous message he has sent and select "Eliminate for all" to correct the error. This action must be executed within 68 minutes and 16 seconds after the text has been published, a sufficient period of time that WhatsApp extended last March. So far, everything remains the same. However, the application is going to introduce a small change, as the portal Wabetainfo has already advanced.
HOW TO HIDE YOUR "BANNED" CONVERSATIONS ON WHATSAPP?(Opens in a new browser tab)
Deleting a message is not an action that is executed immediately, even if requested by the sender. That is, it depends on the servers of each user who is affected by the deletion. Thus, when a person deletes a message, the order may not be carried out immediately, since the order is sent to the servers of each person affected, whether in a group or private conversation. The problem is that if that order does not arrive in time, your message may never be deleted.
The key is the possibility that the server of one of the participants in the conversation takes too long to receive the order to delete the message. When a user of WhatsApp select "Delete for all" in a chat. The message is automatically deleted if all participants in the conversation have their phones turned on or are connected to a network. But if one of the users has it disconnected, he/she can still read it.
Up to now, the request to delete messages is executed within a maximum period of 24 hours. That is to say, all telephones must have connected within that period of time for the servers to execute the action of deleting the message. Otherwise, although the sender will see that the message has been deleted, the receiver will read the message.
To avoid this situation, WhatsApp has decided to reduce this time and limit it to 13 hours, 8 minutes and 16 seconds. This is still a reasonable time for the action to be carried out, but if the smartphone is turned off during this time and the sender has deleted the message, the receiver will be able to read it as soon as he connects his mobile again. The aim of the application is to help users have healthier conversations.
