Will this warning have any effect in China?

Although officials told the companies that if they continued to providing services and products to Chinese companies there would be no long-term "consequences," it is clear that U.S. companies are not going to risk legal disputes by violating the U.S. ban.

Chinese government officials warned numerous technology companies of "serious consequences" should they cooperate with a U.S. ban against doing business with Chinese technology firm Huawei, according to a report published in The New York Times .

 The measure comes after China threatened to establish a blacklist of "unreliable entities" in retaliation for the ban.

The signs that the tariff escalation between the two giants of the world economy will be extended over time are becoming increasingly clear.

The Donald Trump administration in the U.S. announced on Thursday that it will give US$16 billion in grants to farmers affected by the dispute, a day after the Treasury Secretary said no new negotiations with China are on the agenda.
