Xiaomi has announced the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro.The company's latest smartphone, one of its most cutting-edge smartphones to date and whose distinguishing feature is the inclusion of a fingerprint reader located under the glass of the screen, to those markets where the company operates officially. Design and features

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro is the most special version of Xiaomi Mi 8. In particular, the model formerly known as Explorer stands out because of its its translucent backsidewhich "reveals its components". We put in quotation marks because what is really behind the transparency of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro are not its real components, but a trim plate that gives the whole of this peculiar design. This does not detract from the design exercise that Xiaomi has done, creating one of its most spectacular Mi devices yet.

Xiaomi has embellished its backside with an elaborate decorative plate that emulates internal components such as the processor. While it doesn't really show piece by piece, it's a great design exercise to appreciate.

It features a 6.21-inch OLED panel with Gorilla Glass 5, DCI-P3, Always-on Display, brightness up to 600 nits and 88.5% front occupancy. Quite surprising figures considering the price range in which the device is found.. As it could not be otherwise, its heart is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, accompanied by configurations of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.

The battery is 3400mAh, a more than sufficient amperage considering the energy management made by MIUI 10. The terminal lacks practically nothing, with NFC, 3D facial recognition, USB Type-C, nanoSIM, fingerprint reader under the screen? It is one of the most equipped high-end terminals of the moment, despite having a much lower price.

Camera

In the case of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro we have a 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP tele f/2.4 dual rear camera with PDAF, 4-axis OIS, Dual LED, AR Stickers and AI. The front camera has a 20MP f/2.0 sensor. We already saw the photographic results of the Xiaomi Mi 8, and we liked them quite a bit.. We found a camera capable of recognizing multiple scenes thanks to its artificial intelligence, one of the best portrait modes of the high-end, and video stabilization superior to several of its rivals that are twice its price..

As for video quality beyond stabilization, we can record up to 4K 60fps or 1080p 240 fps with the rear camera. A remarkable camera section in the high end, and outstanding for the price range in which it is located..

Price and availability

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro will be available for purchase starting today at all Xiaomi-authorized retail outlets.. Its price will be 599 euros -8 + 128 GB-, 150 euros above the traditional Xiaomi Mi 8 model.

Design and features

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is a mid-range terminal, with somewhat more modest specifications than its big brother, and a quite differential design. This does not mean that it loses its premium finish, since it its back side is finished in glassand has a color gradient that varies according to the incidence of light. The company claims to have based itself on various paintings by renowned artists to create the chromatic range of these terminals.

In this terminal we do not have 3D recognition, which has allowed us to reduce the size of the notch to a minimumin the style of the OnePlus 6 or the Huawei P20 Pro. The panel is large, 6.26 inches with FHD+ resolution and 19:9 format, has a dual camera of 12 + 5 megapixels, 3250mAh battery with fast charging 4.0 and configurations of 4 or 6 GB of RAM accompanied by 64 and 128 GB of RAM respectively.

In this case we also do not have a headphone jacka loss not welcome in a mid-range mobile. However, we find Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi AC? No trace of NFC, as expected. The fingerprint reader is on the back and the speed of it seems to be quite good.

As for the internals and more raw power of the terminal, highlights its Snapdragon 660one of Qualcomm's best mid-range alternatives, with high energy efficiency and enviable performance.

The cameras are much more modest than those of its big brother, and it is that we have two 12 + 5 megapixel sensorscapable of performing portrait mode and powered by artificial intelligence.

Price and availability

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite will be sold in its two versions of storage and RAM memory starting at 269 euros. -and at a price of 329 euros in its version of 6 and 128 GB of memory in the rest of authorized points of sale. The colors in which this terminal will arrive in Spain will be Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.
