Currently Google is in the development of adding a native application for diagnosing network problems in the Chromebook.

If you have the canary version in ChromeOS you can activate the new diagnostic application by pasting the following path. 

chrome://flags/#connectivity-diagnostics-webui in the address bar.

Once you have done this and restarted, you will see a diagnostic application of the connectivity than the same appearance you see in the image:

with this application you will be able to make the tests you want of networks on the Chromebook so you will know if you have any inconvenience in the connection and identify it from the moment.

In many of these network diagnostics you will be able to choose what is known as "network diagnostics".DNS resolution" o "Signal Strength".among many others.

You can run specific tests, or even do everything at once with "Execute all routines."

This is nothing more than an application with basic functions, so it is very likely that you will have to keep going to third-party applications for the diagnosis you want, this if you see that you have a very unstable connection on your computer.
